Heather is a true 'supermum'

A career girl who never wanted children has been crowned Ashford and Tenterden’s Supermum 2009.

Heather Hayward, 31, who lives in South Ashford, has four children - two she adopted after their mother died and, after realising the joys of being a parent, has since had two more.

One of her adopted daughters requires extra care as she has a rare heart condition suffered by only a handful of people worldwide.

Heather, a technical account manager and the family’s main earner, is already back at work at Ardo UK, Charing, just seven weeks after giving birth.

Asked how she will be celebrating Mother’s Day, she said: “By getting some sleep!”

Heather burst into tears when, on her way to work on Wednesday, she received the call from kmfm to say she had been selected as Ashford and Tenterden’s Supermum 2009.

Heather Hayward's full story wil be in Thursday's Kentish Express.
