Man dies in crash on A20 between Ashford and Maidstone

A man has died following a crash between a motorcycle and a lorry on a main road this morning.

Police and ambulance crews attended the collision on the A20 in Lenham, situated between Ashford and Maidstone, following reports of a smash.

A red Honda motorcycle was travelling from Ashford towards Maidstone when it was involved in a collision with a red Iveco Trakker, which was being driven in the opposite direction.

Drivers faced long delays this morning as the road was closed in both directions.

The scene remains closed and cars are being diverted through Lenham village.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was confirmed deceased at the scene.

Police are appealing for information following the fatal collision and say his next of kin has been informed.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out enquiries and are also urging witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them.
