Man injured after forklift accident at scrap yard in Ellingham Industrial Centre, Ashford

A man suffered head injures in a forklift accident at a scrap yard.

Emergency crews rushed to the site on the Ellingham Industrial Centre, in Ashford.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, suffered head and hand injuries when a vehicle was being unloaded with a forklift truck.

The air ambulance road crew attended, along with SECAmb paramedics and police.

A SECAmb spokesman said the man was treated at the scene before being taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 9.24am regarding a report that a man in his 30s had been injured while a vehicle was being unloaded at business premises on the Ellingham Industrial Centre at Ashford."

The spokesman said the Health and Safety Executive has been informed about yesterday's incident and has been approached by KentOnline for a comment.
