Police warning over 'BB gun' menace

A ball-bearing gun is being fired at homes on Ashford's Stanhope estate, a resident claims.

Police say they are not aware of the incidents but have urged people who see or hear anything to contact them.

The Kentish Express was contacted by a reader, who does not want to be named, claiming youngsters have been firing a “BB gun” at people’s windows.

Neighbourhood Sgt Jeff Lawrence said: “If youths are out with BB guns and causing damage it is important that these incident are reported - I cannot stress this too strongly."

“Members of the public also have a responsibility here and that is to report these incidents and concerns as soon as they happen.

“I would urge anyone who has information about these alleged BB gun incidents to contact the police.”
