Europe's best Status Quo tribute band are to headline the evening of music after the kmfm Charity Challenge Cup football match.

After the star-studded match, due to feature boxer Joe Calzaghe and actor Michael Sheen, at the Julie Rose Stadium on Sunday, music fans will be able to dance away to Counterfeit Quo, who will be performing the band’s greatest hits, such as Rockin’ All Over The World and Whatever You Want.

The day will start with penalty shoot-out competitions for children from 11.45am, followed by the Help for the Heroes Cup match between soldiers of the 3rd Battalion Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment and the 103 Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers at 1pm.

During the afternoon, there will be music from the wartime and swing duo the Swingtime Sweethearts from 3pm, before the Tigers freefall team parachute the match ball on to the pitch at 4pm.

The big match between the London celebrity team, featuring boxer Joe Calzaghe and singer Simon Webbe from Blue, and the Ashford celebrity team, including former international footballers Neil “Razor” Ruddock and Neville Southall, kicks off at 4.15pm.

There have been some late additions to the London side, including EastEnders actors Dean Gaffney, who played Robbie Jackson, and Devon Anderson, who plays Billy Jackson. Actor Danny Dyer has been forced to pull out.

In the evening there will be more music, from Ashford rock band Know Your Enemy, rhythm and blues covers from the Four Cajonees and Kylie Minogue tribute act Jo Steele before Counterfeit Quo take to the stage at 9.30pm.

All proceeds from the day will go to wounded servicemen’s charity Help the Heroes.

Tickets cost £12 for adults, £5 for children and £30 for a family ticket. They will be available at the ground but it is advisable to buy in advance.
