Ashford motorcyclist Leon Camier is in Australia preparing for the new British Superbike Championship season.

The 22-year-old has re-signed for the GSC Racing team, whom he helped to win the Superbikes title in 2008 by winning three rounds at Snetterton, Croft and Silverstone.

The team received a boost just before Christmas when Wrigley’s Airwaves announced they would be extending their sponsorship agreement with GSE, whose line-up in 2009 will feature Camier and James Ellison aboard the all-new Yamaha YZF-R1.

Camier said: "Riding a Yamaha, after riding the Ducati last season, will be a big challenge and one I am looking forward to."
