Ashford School pupils Alice Doughty and Lana-Emily Foyle produced impressive displays of shooting at the 2009 National Modern Pentathlon GB Pistol Championships.

Doughty, 13, and 11-year-old Foyle finished third and fourth respectively in the event, which was open to all MPGB shooters from across the UK.

The pair fired 80 shots over a 10m distance, at an 8cm target, beating over 60 other competitors, including a number of international competitors.

Both are now in training for further MPGB events, with Foyle taking part in her first Tetrathlon event (10m shoot, 100m swim, 1000m run and epee fencing) this weekend
