Car crashes into wall and snack bar overturns

A car caught light after crashing into a wall outside a house in Herne near Herne Bay shortly before 1.30pm on Friday.

The Vauxhall Omega was severely damaged in the accident in The Street but the 55-year-old driver managed to escape the car with minor injuries.

Firefighters put out the flames but the road was blocked for more than an hour and traffic diverted.

Meanwhile, the London-bound carriageway of the A2 was blocked near the Gate Services at Boughton on Friday afternoon after a car towing a mobile snack bar overturned.

The woman driver suffered bruising to her leg but was not seriously hurt.

Firefighters and an ambulance were called to the scene and the accident has caused long traffic tailbacks.
