Confrontation over fireworks led to punch in face

A 63-year-old man was punched in the face after he confronted two children setting off fireworks in the street.

The incident occurred in Randolph Close at Canterbury at around 12.45pm on Monday afternoon.

The man was in his garden when he saw the boys launch a rocket from the end of the road. When he went to talk to the two children one of them punched him in the face.

The pair ran off, followed by the man but he was unable to catch them. He suffered only slight injuries.

The offender who punched him is described as being aged around 13, with brown hair and a chubby face. The second child is described as being aged 15 or 16, and wearing a black bomber jacket and blue jeans.
