Crunch meeting over hospital's future

HEALTH campaigners are expected to turn out in force next Monday to hear which option for the future of Kent and Canterbury Hospital will be chosen by the trust.

The East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust has called an extraordinary meeting of its board at 9.30am at the Ashford International Hotel in Simone Weil Avenue.It will be open to the public, but they will not be able to speak or ask questions.

The meeting will decide the board's recommendation to the East Kent Health Authority following the public consultation on the future of hospital services in east Kent. Trust chairman Peter Hermitage said: "This is very much a business meeting and I do not intend to open it up to questions from the public."
