Canterbury murder probe: Naomi Toro charged with assisting an offender

Murder detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a man and a woman in Canterbury have charged a local woman with assisting an offender.

Simon Gorecki, 47 and Natasha Sadler, a 40-year-old mother-of-three, suffered fatal injuries during an altercation on Tuesday night.

Foster Christian, 53, appeared before magistrates via videolink this morning facing two charges of murder.

Police have just announced that Naomi Toro of Keyworth Mews in Canterbury, has now been charged with assisting an offender.

The 35-year-old has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Dover Magistrates tomorrow.

An 18-year-old woman from Canterbury also arrested in connection with the incident, on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, has been bailed pending further investigation until May 3.

Christian, of Dickens Avenue, Canterbury, is also charged with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm.

A 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old youth were also injured in the incident, which happened on Tuesday evening in Dickens Avenue.

Christian has been remanded in custody until he appears at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday April 5.
