After disappointing 2,500 ticket holders in September Fav Fest is back under a different name.

This time round N-Dubz will headline the Music at Willow Farm Festival (WAW2010), replacing the original top of the bill act JLS.

Hundreds of thousands of pounds are to be spent bringing the likes of Bananarama, East 17 (pictured left), Chesney Hawkes and Atomic Kitten’s Liz McClarnon (pictured below) to Faversham, with hopes that several more high profile names will join the bill.

Bosses at Willow Farm, in Hanslett’s Lane, Ospringe, had to cancel their first attempt to hold a family friendly festival, after Swale Borough Council pulled the plug weeks before it was due to be held.

After being dogged by health and safety concerns, organisers have brought festival consultants on board to ensure the licence application, which is yet to be agreed, gets the go-ahead.

All funds raised from the event will go towards keeping the horse rescue and disabled rider tuition programmes at the Willow Farm Equestrian Centre.

WAW2010 is due to be held over the May Day bank holiday.

On May 29 organisers promise a mixture of iconic 80s and 90s artists, with May 30 offering chart toppers along with up and coming acts.

As well as live music on the main stage, a fun fair, dance tent and array of festival food is planned, to cater for all tastes.

Willow Farm manager Liz Burgess said: “We learnt a lot from last time, and our fingers are crossed that WAW2010 goes smoothly.

“JLS were due to perform at Fav Fest, but they have grown a lot in popularity since September.

“Having said that, however, we have top quality acts that are guaranteed to be crowd pleasers.

“When we first embarked upon creating this new festival, we had no idea how much work was involved, but now we have a bigger team and we are clued up on what is expected and needed. So we are definitely more confident.

“Other events in Faversham tend to be a little more traditional, so this is really like nothing else in the area.”
