Paralympian skier Millie Knight has been forced to quit competing during this season due to injury.
The visually-impaired athlete from Canterbury who, along with her guide Brett Wild won two silvers and a bronze at the Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang in March last year, revealed the decision today from a training camp in France.
In a statement on her Facebook page, Millie, 19, announced: "After weeks of uncertainty, it has been decided that Brett and I are not going to race this season.
"I have struggled with injuries and feel I can’t push myself to my usual limits to race at World Cup events until I have recovered sufficiently.
"I am training at a lesser intensity at the moment but none the less we are still working hard.
"We are currently training with the Royal Navy Ski Team in Valloire, Rhone-Alpes, France and look forward to being back on the World Cup circuit next season.
"I am sad that Brett and I won't be able to defend our World Championship titles but it means I will be back next season stronger than ever before."
