There were severe delays in the area, not helped by the closure of the Sturry level crossing nearby.

The road was clear by 3pm.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 11.46am on 5 June to Shalloak Road, Canterbury to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a car.

"No injuries were reported but the road had to be closed while the vehicles were recovered."
