Three-legged record
attempt takes place

FAMILIES in Herne Bay have literally been putting their best feet
forward in a bid to beat the world record for the largest
simultaneous three-legged race.

More than 40 pairs lined up for the challenge at Herne Bay High
School on Saturday which was taking part in an initiative during
National Family Week aimed at encouraging families to do more
together.

Called Families Get Together, the school put on sporting taster
sessions as well as fun activity workshops and a variety of
stalls.

Organiser Justine Rush, who is the school’s learning resources
manager, said: “Research has shown that the average family spends
just 45 minutes a day doing things together. So the event was about
encouraging them to spend more quality time together."

See this week's Herne Bay Gazette for full report and
pictures.
