Man arrested after conductor headbutted on train between Faversham and Canterbury East

A man has been arrested after a ticket inspector was headbutted on a train travelling between Faversham and Canterbury.

Police issued an appeal for witnesses and a description of the suspect after the conductor was attacked while checking tickets at just before 11.30am on Wednesday.

Now a 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

He has been released on police bail until Friday, August 16, while police investigate.
