Canterbury were held on home soil by lowly Chinnor in National League 3 South on Saturday.

The game was played in appalling weather, which made scoring difficult.

Canterbury took the lead when fly-half Brad Allnutt set up James Birnage and Gert De Kock converted.

But towards the end of the first half Canterbury were punished for failing to clear to touch and Chinnor made the pressure count when hooker Arthur Ellis grounded.

Shortly after the restart Chinnor forced Canterbury back, and wing James Serrano’s try put the visitors in the lead.

But Chinnor failed to convert their score for a second time and that allowed Canterbury to get back on level terms with a De Kock penalty.

Chinnor went closest to taking the points when Ben Hewitt’s penalty struck a post with seven minutes remaining.
