Canterbury's poor run of form continued as they went down to a 26-6 defeat against Rosslyn Park in National 3 South.

It was the first time this season, in any competition, that Canterbury have failed to score a try.

They only threatened the try line once when Mike Melford's pace took him clear, but his inside pass went straight into the hands of a Park player.

Ben Thomas got the city side on the scoreboard with a good, long range penalty, but by half-time Park had built up a 10-point lead. The home side's points came from a Rob Jewell try plus a Dylan Pugh conversion and penalty.

In the second half, Pugh and Thomas exchanged penalties but Canterbury became even more anonymous as the game went on.

Pugh added two more penalties to make it 19-6 before Adam Gates late converted try completed the victory.
