Woman wanted in relation to alleged racial assault in Brook Street, Erith

An image of a woman police want to speak to following an alleged assault has been published.

A woman is alleged to have repeatedly assaulted, spat at and racially abused a 55-year-old man who attempted to calm a dispute.

The incident happened at a newsagent in Brook Street in Erith just after 4.30pm on Friday, August 11.

The man attempted to intervene when he noticed a woman was in dispute with a member of staff.

The woman is alleged to have assaulted the victim before leaving.

Police attended and searched the area with the victim but the woman could not be found.

The victim did not suffer any serious injuries but was said to be shaken by what had happened.
