Charlton Athletic suffered an agonising defeat as Brentford hit a last-gasp winner in their League 1 clash at The Valley on Saturday.

The game was goalless until the final minute when former Tonbridge player Leon Legge scored the only goal of the game.

The result leaves the Addicks with one point from a possible 21 and without a win in seven games.

It also means Chris Powell’s (pictured) side’s play-off hopes are effectively over and, having dropped to 11th place, they now closer to the relegation zone than the play-offs.

However, Charlton will feel aggrieved to have come away empty-handed having had the better chances during the game.

Miguel Llera went close twice in the second half with a header that hit the bar and an effort that was well saved by keeper Richard Lee.

Legge’s late goal came when he climbed high to head home Adam Reed’s corner as the Addicks’ winless run went on.
