Crash on M20 closes London bound slip road for the M25, diversion in place at Swanley Interchange roundabout

There have been delays on the M20 London bound today following an accident on the slip road heading towards the M25.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 8.40am and police closed the exit slip road at junction three of the M25, with a diversion in place via the Swanley Interchange roundabout.

Two HGVs are said to have collided, which resulted in diesel spilling onto the carriageway.

Motorists experienced heavy congestion following the collision as the slip road was closed by Highways England, with long queues at the roundabout.

Police officers left the scene this morning but the slip road remained closed by Highways England until 1.14pm while the diesel spillage was cleaned up.

There was a fear that the road may have to be resurfaced due to the spillage, but it has now returned to normal operation.
