Callum Harriott scored his first league goal in only his second start to give Charlton a 1-0 victory at Huddersfield on Saturday.

The 19-year-old winger, pictured, fired home from just inside the box following a short free-kick from Chris Solly after four minutes.

Addicks boss Chris Powell praised Harriott after his side moved up to 12th in the Championship, nine points clear of the relegation zone.

Powell said: “I’m pleased for him. The lads gave him a bit of a ripple afterwards because he’s a popular young player.

“If he can come up with things like that for the rest of the season, then that will be great for him and his future.

“He did exceptionally well for the goal and worked hard for the team before he took a bit of a knock.”

Goalkeeper David Button made decent saves from Theo Robinson and Oliver Norwood as Charlton kept their first clean sheet in 19 games.
