Pupils from Oakfield Community Primary School have been proudly showing off their artistic touch at Dartford Library.

They teamed up with other schools across Europe to produce the display as part of Erasmus+ Keys to the Future, a continental exchange project with financial backing from the European Union.

Artwork on display is inspired by the national flowers of each country involved, with Oakfield pupils basing theirs on the UK’s flowers of rose, shamrock, daffodil and thistle.

Teacher Sevinc Harrison said: “It is about learning about each other’s culture and personal style of teaching, and involving all the children in the classroom.

“We learn from each other and the next meeting will be more about community and also making the children more independent learners.”

Other pictures were drawn by budding artists from Istituto Comprensivo in Vasto, Italy, Szkola Podstawowa in Warsaw, Poland, Sair Nabi Ilkokulu in Istanbul, Turkey, and Agluonenu Pagrindine Mokykla in Agluonnai, Lithuania.

Six lucky Oakfield pupils will visit the Italian school next month.
