Woman rescued from car after A2 accident

A woman had to be rescued from her car on Saturday afternoon after it hit the central reservation of the A2.

The woman, thought to be in her mid-20s, was given a neck brace and eventually removed from the vehicle on a long board.

It is thought she may have suffered minor injuries and was taken to Darent Valley Hospital.

The incident occured just after the Shepherd's Lane junction of the A2 coastbound carriageway at 12.14pm.

Police closed all three lanes of the road for approximately 10 minutes and reopened the lanes in phases.

Fire fighters from Dartford left the scene at about 1pm. It is unclear when the road was fully reopened.
