Steven Thomson scored the winning goal as Dover came from behind to beat Bath and continue their excellent away form in Blue Square Bet South.

The Whites finished with 10 men on Saturday after Dean Rance was dismissed for two bookable offences. However, the visitors held on for a third straight win on the road and a record of 10 points taken from a possible 12 away from Crabble.

Dover dominated the first half at Twerton Park but they reached the interval with nothing to show for their efforts. Billy Bricknell (pictured) sent a shot just wide and Ben May forced a great save from Bath goalkeeper Glyn Garner.

Against the run of play, it was Bath who took the lead on 50 minutes. Charlie Griffin smashed the ball into Dover’s net after his first effort had bounced back off the crossbar.

It took just 11 minutes for the Whites to equalise. Jamie Smith’s pass sent Bricknell away and he placed a shot into the far corner. May headed inches wide from a Barry Cogan cross, but the visitors did not have to wait long for another breakthrough.

With 20 minutes remaining, Cogan’s free-kick deflected into the path of Thomson and he rounded Garner before rolling the ball into the open goal. Rance saw red in the closing stages but Bath were unable to capitalise.
