Dover boss Martin Hayes admits his side have reached the point of no return – and seven points from their final three games could be enough to secure a Blue Square Bet South play-off spot.

The Whites’ play-off hopes could be decided this weekend with two crucial matches, beginning with Saturday’s visit of Basingstoke followed by Bank Holiday Monday’s trip to Dartford.

Hayes, pictured, said: "We are at the point of no return now. We’re as you were in the table, with Welling slipping up and Chelmsford’s results.

"It’s a massive couple of games for us and I think we need to get at least seven points from the last three games. If we can pick up nine then we will be definitely in there, but if we get seven we will be looking at other results."

After lengthy spells on the sidelines, defenders Olly Schulz and Rob Gillman trained last Saturday along with midfield duo Jon Wallis and Sam Long. All four should be in contention for selection.

However, doubts remain over the fitness of midfielder Nathan Ashton after he injured his groin at Dorchester on Saturday. On-loan defender Ed Harris also limped off, but is expected to be fit.
