Deal's men’s 1sts ended the first half of the season on a high with a last-gasp 3-2 win over Maidstone 3rds to go second in Kent Open Premier A.

The visitors proved tough opponents and after Deal had gone down to 10 after Tom Carnegie went off injured, Maidstone took the lead.

George Phillips levelled for the hosts after picking the ball up wide and beating the keeper but after the break, Maidstone went back in front from a short corner.

Craig Spanton converted a short corner at the other end to restore parity for the second time and the hosts poured forward and won a short corner in the dying seconds.

Spanton lashed the ball home to complete the turnaround and seal the points.
