It will be the first date of his UK tour that continues into the summer.

The supporting act will be the Kent alternative rock band The Circus Birds.

The magician is Ben Taylor, 31, of Crawle,y and his stage name is chosen as his persona is based around the mod movement.

He has been on tour with the likes of The Libertines, Pete Doherty, and Paul Weller and appeared on TV shows like Soccer Am.

Comedian Adam Morrison-Jones appeared at the Roundhouse, on February 4, as one of a number of other performing there to help keep it open.

There is a growing campaign to save the town's only purpose-built theatre with an online petition,

This was set up last August and by yesterday (Wednesday) accumulated 1,555 names out of a target figure of of 2,500.

Recently the Theatres Trust charity put the venue on its Theatres at Risk Register 2022.

The Roundhouse is earmarked for shutdown for the redevelopment of its host building, Dover Discovery Centre in Market Square.

Kent county councillors voted for this last July.

As part of renovation work, the Poltons Family Centre would move into the building, which houses Dover Library, and a walk-in local and family history archive would be installed.

As a result of these changes it's been deemed that the Roundhouse would have to be relocated, leaving Blackfish Theatre Academy, Dover Operatic and Dramatic Society and Dover Youth Theatre without a base.

There is no closing date so far as, KCC stresses, a public consultation will take place first.

Tickets for The Magic Mod show, from 7pm on Wednesday, March 9, cost £8 online via roundhousetheatredover.co.uk or £10 at the door.
