Yobs set off two undergrowth fires at Barwick Road, Dover

Vandals set off a second undergrowth blaze while firefighters were there tackling an earlier one.

It happened on land at Barwick Road, Dover.

Crews were called to the initial blaze at 4.40pm yesterday (Wednesday) .

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman explained: "The fire involved a large quantity of undergrowth piled up and ignited.

“A second fire was set while crews attended to the first.

“Information has been passed to Kent Police as both are believed to have been started deliberately by youths seen in the area.”

Two appliances attended the original callout and used hose reels to tackle the flames.

The crews were at the scene until just after 6.10pm.
