Man suffers fall in Port of Dover

A man has suffered serious injuries after falling 60ft in the Port of Dover.

He landed on safety netting following the accident, which happened in the Eastern Docks at around 2.50pm.

A fire service spokesman said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service's rope rescue team were mobilised to the scene to help rescue the man who'd fallen into the cliff's safety netting.

"The man, who sustained serious injuries was placed in the care of SECAmb paramedics."

Two fire engines were sent to the scene and crews remained at the site until around 4.05pm.

It comes less than a day after a man died after falling from a bridge in the town.
