A woman has died after the car she was travelling in collided with a lorry.

The crash involving a black Volkswagen Polo and a white DAF lorry happened on the A20 Samphire Hoe at 8.22pm yesterday.

A 50-year-old woman from London died at the scene.

Police closed the road until 6.15am while they carried out an investigation.

They are now appealing for witnesses to come forward, and particularly want to speak to anyone who saw the VW beforehand.
