Two migrant boats brought into Dover

Two boats heading to the Kent coast were stopped in the Channel this morning.

Authorities were alerted at 8.30am and Border Force were sent to intercept them.

The groups, made up of 28 men and women, were brought to Dover.

A spokesman for the Hme Office said some claimed to be minors.

Everyone was brought to shore by Border Force vessels and were medically assessed and found to be well.

They were transferred to immigration officials to be interviewed.

The migrants were from Iraq and Iran.

A child was on a boat stopped by the cutters yesterday and taken to Dunkirk.
