Young mother dies in crash

THE 28-year-old wife of a driving instructor has been killed in a road accident.

Vivienne Hindry-Brankley was driving her husband's blue Vauxhall Corsa, which he uses for lessons, when the accident happened at New Romney, near Hythe.

The car was in collision with the tractor unit of an articulated lorry. The mother-of-two, from Hamilton Road, Dover, died instantly from multiple injuries.

Her husband, who was in the passenger seat, was injured in the collision and taken to hospital.

He runs the Paul Brankley Driving School in Dover. It is understood he was giving his wife a driving lesson at the time of the tragedy.

Anyone who witnessed the accident, at Hammond's Corner, where Romney Road meets the A259 Lydd Road, at about 1pm last Friday is asked to contact PC Guy Ditcher on 01622 600970.

An inquest into the death has been opened and adjourned at Ashford.
