Cyclist's arm broken by 'wheelie bin'

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pedal cyclist had his arm broken in a bizarre incident.

The victim was cycling in Painters Forstal Road in Faversham when a vehicle approached him from the other direction, dragging what he has described as a wheelie bin.

As the vehicle passed by, it is reported that the object struck the man, causing him to fall from his bike.

A police spokesman said: "The bike was destroyed in the collision and the man is reported to have suffered a broken arm."

Police would now like to speak to anyone in the area who may have seen this vehicle and may be able to shed any more light on the driver or the object that was being dragged behind the vehicle.

The incident happened at around 10pm on Friday, February 9.

Anyone with any further information is asked to contact PC Neil Harrison at Faversham Police Station on 01795 419117 or call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 – this call is free and confidential.
