Faversham customers queue out the door for Cheran’s Bakery opening

Queues were out the door and along the street for the opening of a popular sweet bakery’s fourth shop this morning.

Cheran’s Bakery, created by Sittingbourne businesswoman Cheran Friedman, began serving sweet treats to the people of Faversham today.

The shop, which sells brownies, cookies, tea cakes, giant cinnamon buns and much more, is now fulfilling the sweet tooth of the old market town.

The opening of Cheran’s latest branch comes just 10 months after she first started her baking venture in West Street, Sittingbourne.

Mum-of-two Cheran, who also has shops in Canterbury and Rochester – which was recently transformed for the filming of Netflix’s hit show The Crown, welcomed customers from 10.30am today.

The 30-year-old said: “Today is the day Faversham, we are finally opening.

“We have baked our hearts out for you. There are cookie pies, teacakes, cinnamon buns, brownies, blondies, cookies, cookie bars, fudge cake jars, cakes, rocky roads and probably more but I’m too tired to think!”
