A BMW car, which had been reported stolen in London in April, failed to stop for a police patrol in Shorncliffe Road last month and was later found abandoned.

Following inquiries, a 31-year-old was arrested and a Porsche Macan, which had also been reported stolen from London, was seized on June 9.

Bertasius has also been charged with driving without a licence, driving without insurance, driving without due care and attention, and possession of cannabis.

He was remanded in custody at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on June 10 and will next appear at Canterbury Crown Court on July 10.
