A2 gridlocked after three vehicle incident

A THREE-VEHICLE pile up on the A2 has caused congestion on the london-bound carriageway this morning.

The incident forced drivers to pass on the hard shoulder as all three lanes were closed.

The Highways Agency said they were first notified of the crash at 10.22am.

They said the scene had been cleared by 10.35am.

The incident occured on the slip road onto the A2 at the Tollgate Services, between the M2 and the junction of the A227, Wrotham Road.
