Alexander Oni jailed for supplying cocaine in Gravesend

A drug dealer has been jailed after he was caught supplying cocaine in Gravesend.

Alexander Oni, 27, formerly of Brown Road, Gravesend, was arrested last month after police found drugs and cash in a property he was in.

When officers raided a home on February 2 he was found with £800 in cash in his pocket. Inside the same room were small amounts of cannabis and two wraps of cocaine.

The items were seized, along with two mobile phones, and analysis of both phones showed Oni had been dealing drugs in the area.

At Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday, Oni pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine and offering to supply cocaine. He was jailed on the same day for three years and nine months.

Detective Constable Steven Brown, the investigating officer, said: "Oni was involved in a trade which targets and exploits the most vulnerable members of our society.

"He sought to use people’s addictions as a means to make money, an action which is entirely reprehensible. This case shows that we do proactively target drug dealers and are able to swiftly bring them before the courts to secure justice."
