The woman, who is in her 30s, was pulled from a vehicle and handcuffed.

She was detained on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving without insurance, as well as drug driving.

An eye-witness, who wants to remain anonymous, said: "I thought the treatment of the woman was quite harsh.

"When the police officer had arrested her, he came over to me and tried to seize my camera by quoting a terrorist law, that I'm not allowed to take photos.

"I am perfectly allowed because I was taking photos in a public place."

In all, 10 officers were pictured at the scene, as well as six Kent Police vehicles.

The woman remains in custody while inquiries continue.
