Police investigate alleged blue Ford Fiesta theft from Kemsley Close, Northfleet

A driving instructor has had to cancel lessons after his car was allegedly stolen from outside his house.

Police officers are investigating after the blue Ford Fiesta was reported missing from Kemsley Close, in Northfleet, on Tuesday (October 31).

Neighbours' CCTV footage shows figures approaching the car with the lights flashing on and off as they seem to break in before driving off down the road.

It takes around two minutes for the alleged theft to take place at around 7.30pm.

The owner of the vehicle – who did not wish to be named – said they had parked it on the street near their property like usual but did not notice it was missing until the following morning.

Although the instructor also has an automatic vehicle as part of his driving school he has had to postpone five manual lessons.

They added: “I am quite annoyed about it. I cannot work because I cannot teach people without a car. Hopefully, I will not have to cancel any more.

The resident, who has lived in the borough for around 35 years, said he had not been told of any other cars being stolen that night but heard there had been a spate of Ford Fiestas going missing.
