Judge in line for Fleet debut

Woking v Ebbsfleet

Striker Matthew Judge is in line to make his Ebbsfleet debut against Woking in the Blue Square Premier on Saturday.

The 24-year-old had been playing for Sligo Rovers in the Eircom League of Ireland before being released in December.

The former Republic of Ireland under-19 international completed his move on Wednesday when the club obtained international clearance.

The Fleet will be without defender Darius Charles after he suffered a further setback in his recovery from an ankle injury.

Manager Liam Daish said: "Something hasn’t been picked up on the X-ray and Darius has had to have his ankle put in a cast for a couple of weeks.

"After that everything will be sorted. It is frustrating because if we’d had the diagnosis early on he’d probably be back playing by now."

Woking go into the game on the back of a 4-1 defeat against Cambridge United.

“Woking will have their own agenda,” said Daish. “It’s going to be tough. They had a poor result on Saturday and will want to bounce back."

Sacha Opinel will serve the first game of a two match suspension after picking up 10 bookings this season.
