Gravesend man charged with robbery after cash stolen from shop in Valley Drive

A man has been charged in connection with a suspected robbery at a shop.

Officers were called to a business in Valley Drive in Gravesend following reports money had been taken from the till.

The incident happened at around at around 9.20am on Thursday.

Police were made aware of what happened and a community support officer later located a suspect in an alleyway near Parrock Avenue.

The suspect was arrested when officers arrived and taken into custody. He had a large sum of cash on him which was seized.

The following day, Liam Lunt of Windmill Street, Gravesend was charged with robbery.

The 23-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday where he was remanded to a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on February 13.
