Higham: Man in hospital after car and lorry collision between Halstead Road, Rochester and Lower Rochester Road, Higham

One man has been taken to hospital after an accident involving a truck and a car.

Emergency services were at the scene of an incident yesterday evening just before 7.30pm on the slip road between Halstead Road and Lower Rochester Road.

Fire crews said a car had crashed into the back of a truck.

One lane was closed but has since been re-opened.

Police spokesman Martin Very said: "Police were called at 7.22pm on Friday,October 26 regarding a collision involving a car and a truck on the A289 at its junction with the B2000 near Higham

"Officers, the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene where the car driver was treated for injuries described as minor.

"He was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
