Commuter chaos continues at Gravesend Railway Station as broken track is still not fixed

A busy railway platform is to remain shut until the end of the month after it was forced to close to repair a broken track.

Platform 0 at Gravesend Railway Station is closed until July 31 meaning all trains to London are affected.

Commuters wanting to travel to Cannon Street must board the train at Dartford while those wanting to go to Charing Cross must get on at Northfleet.

The line has been broken since Wednesday, July 5 when the discovery caused commuter chaos.

Southeastern High Speed and Thameslink services are unaffected and travellers have been assured they can use their ticket at no extra cost on Thameslink trains via Gravesend.

An hourly replacement bus service is running between Northfleet and Gravesend because of amended Thameslink services between Luton and Rainham.
