Staff and parents shocked at sudden closure of nursery

STAFF and parents at a nursery school are reeling after being hit with the news it is closing today.

According to reports from concerned parents, the Cuddlez Day Nursery in Dashwood Road, Gravesend is shutting its doors, leaving all staff out of work and parents with just two days to find alternative care.

Sioban Mew, 29, whose son has been going to the nursery for two years, said mums and dads were horrified at the news and worried they could be left more than £1,000 out of pocket.

She said: "I had an email at 4pm at work yesterday asking me to call the nursery, I knew something was up."

When she called, the deputy manager informed her it was closing.

The owner of the private nursery, Karen Kirby, is expected to visit the nursery today to answer questions from angry parents.
