X Factor contestant Tamera Foster of Gravesend misses out on place in semi-finals

Tamera Foster was licking her wounds today after being sensationally voted off X Factor after a deadlock judges' decision.

Despite being a hit with the panel of the ITV show on both days, the public relegated her to the bottom two, meaning a sing-off against Luke Friend.

She chose Christina Aguilera's The Voice Within, with Luke choosing Run by Snow Patrol.

But when the judges were tied and failed to reach an overall decision, the vote went back to the public - with that sealing the 16-year-old's fate.

The judges praised her talent, with singer Gary Barlow tipping her as "one of the biggest stars" for the future.

Now the North West Kent College student is hoping to build on the success of the competition and carve out a successful career.

The Gravesend teenager told the panel she had had "an amazing time".
