Tealight warning after TV fire

THE fire brigade are warning about the dangers of tealights, following an incident yesterday evening.

Thames-side fire crews were called to Waterdales, Gravesend at 9pm, after a tealight had been put on top of a television, causing a fire.

Watch manager Lee Murray said: "Luckily it was during the day, while the owners were still awake. Tealights must be used in proper containers as they are very dangerous, as the metal gets very hot."

Two engines were called to the scene and the fire was put out within 30 minutes. No-one was hurt.
