Sean Deuchars, who owned the tools, runs an air conditioning business, and said he was out all day yesterday to try and replace the stolen tools he uses for work.

The 34-year-old said: "I’m shocked how easy it was for them to open the back of the truck, connected to central locking, without the alarm activating.

"If any information leads to these scumbags being found and recovery of tools there will be a large cash reward."

The tools stolen include pipe cutters, spanners, pliers, screwdrivers, and a hacksaw. Sean estimates they are worth £2,000 to £2,500 in total.

Police have confirmed they are investigating a report of theft of tools from a van in Westwood Road, Gravesend.
