Two charged after cocaine and heroin found in Northfleet storage container

Police have charged two men with drug offences after bags of cocaine and heroin were found in a storage container in Northfleet.

Ahead of a planned warrant, officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate stopped two men as they attempted to enter the container in Watling Street, at 6.40pm on Wednesday.

Following a search officers seized a rucksack which contained several bags filled with cocaine and heroin.

Lee Nevard, 39, of Cotton Lane, Dartford, was later charged with conspiracy to supply a Class A drug.

Raymond Beaver, 42, of Ladywood Road, Dartford, was also charged with conspiracy to supply a Class A drug.

Both men appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday and were remanded in custody.

A 37-year-old man from Plumstead was released pending further enquiries.
