Fleet boss taking nothing for granted

LIAM DAISH: "I don’t expect to beat anyone"
LIAM DAISH: "I don’t expect to beat anyone"

Crawley Town v Gravesend & Northfleet

GRAVESEND & Northfleet boss Liam Daish is hoping his players keep doing the simple things right.

Fleet ended a run of six games without a win with last weekend’s 2-0 win over Altrincham and he’s looking for another maximum points haul against Conference strugglers Crawley on Saturday.

However, despite Crawley’s lowly position, Daish isn’t taking them lightly.

He said: "Someone said to me on Saturday that because Crawley are below us we’re expected to beat them. I don’t expect to beat anyone. If we’re right and we do what I want them to do then hopefully we’ll have enough ability.

"They’re (Crawley) in a transitional period and I wouldn’t be surprised if they named a new manager before Saturday. The one thing I do know, if they do have a new man in charge, is the existing players will be looking to secure their future.

"We got three points on Saturday and we’ve got to build on that. We’ve got to get into a bit of consistency and that’s what we need if we’re going to progress."
